Safety first
Keep your distance from sick or dead wildlife and keep dogs and tamariki away.
Do not harvest eggs, feathers or meat from sick or dead birds.
For poultry, keep sick birds isolated and seek official guidance before handling them.
For marine mammals, stay at least 20 metres back and contact DOC.
