General Educational Resources

This guide may be useful for the research sector particularly those who want to increase their cultural proficiency and depth of relationship with Māori and who are seeking greater impact from collaborative research that is carried out with Māori. This guide seeks to move beyond transactional relationships to more transformative ones but also acknowledges that the expectations and obligations required to do so are often poorly understood and at worst ignored by researchers.

Imagine a situation where you have put in countless hours of work on a new measurement and evaluation framework and, when it is time to get feedback or present your ideas, you have been met with 1,000-yard stares (not that hard to imagine). Conventional approaches can sometimes struggle to engage stakeholders and convey complex concepts. To address this, this presentation proposes a unique, visually-based approach that integrates metaphors and symbols into measurement and evaluation frameworks with the goal of getting buy-in, portraying complexity, and making evaluation (more) fun for everyone.
